Pratibodh Foundation, through an endowment to Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, has instituted an annual award with a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000 for excellence in academic research for PhD students of the department of Biochemistry, in memory of Dr. T. R. Bhaskaran, a distinguished alum of the department.
Ms. Debaleena Kar received the award for the year 2021 for her research proposal on "CircRNA- A potential therapy for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy". Circular RNAs (CircRNAs) play important roles in many cellular processes, and their dysregulation is implicated in the pathogenesis of various diseases. Engineering artificial circRNAs with designer molecular effects is an emerging area of research.

Computer Center at Trans Mom Foundation
Pratibodh Foundation in collaboration with Trans Mom Foundation inaugurated a computer center on September 10, 2021. The four seat computer center is fully funded by Pratibodh Foundation. This centre will be providing free basic computer skill training, computer-based accounting applications, and other job-oriented computer courses to trans-women which would hopefully open up job opportunities for India’s most marginalized and discriminated section of the society.
