Empowers the visually impaired

Pratibodh Foundation delivers free digital skills, English communication, work readiness, mobility and orientation training to visually impaired.

We are expanding the reach and scale of our programs for the visually impaired with a partnership with EnAble India under their #SeeAMillion campaign to setup a Parivartan centre in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. We have entered into a partnership with Bharathiar University, Department of Social Work (DSW), Coimbatore and will be utilizing their MultiModel Material Preparation Centre (MMPC) with 15 computers to operate the Parivartan centre. EnAble India has provided Rs. 6.14 lakhs to Pratibodh Foundation as a grant to equip the centre with assistive devices and Lab set up for training low vision and totally visually impaired.

We are seeking funds for expanding the scope and scale of the programs for the visually imapaired.

FY 2026–27 Plan

While we continue with our online VI training programs, we will be starting in person classes for VI in our new Parivartan centre's digital skills lab being setup in partnership with EnAble India and the Department of Social Work, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. We will also be expanding the community events across Tamil Nadu.

What your contribution does

Pratibodh programs run at low cost because the founders manage operations with very lean administrative overheads. Infrastructure costs are kept at minimum by partnering with organizations who have capacity and facilities. Here is what specific contribution amounts will deliver in FY 2026–27.

Sponsors a complete batch of 15 visually impaired students through a comprehensive training program either online or in person in our digital skilling lab.

Three ways to make an impact

01 Project-Based Giving

Sponsor a specific number of participants in P1 (Online training) or P2 (Digital skill Lab) or P3 (Community event). Mix and match program types to suit your giving level. Every contribution is tracked, reported, and directly attributed to named program outputs.

e.g. ₹40,000 sponsors 10 students through a full skills programme, or ₹10,000 sponsors 10 community event participants.

02 Multi-Year Commitment

The single most effective form of support. Multi-year commitments allow the foundation to plan ahead, hire consistently, and deepen relationships with students across batches — rather than rebuilding capacity each year from scratch. Even a two-year commitment of any amount transforms what Pratibodh can promise its students.

e.g. A commitment of ₹1,00,000/year funds 25 students annually and allows long-term program planning.

03 Corpus / Endowment

Build lasting institutional capacity. A corpus donation creates permanent infrastructure that generates programme income indefinitely — as demonstrated by Pratibodh's endowment at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, which now funds annual research prizes from the endowment income alone. This is permanent contribution, not recurring spend.

We would be happy to talk to you about this and how ths can be structured to be spread over 3-4 years. A portion of the funding can support an annual spend while the balance goes toward building a corpus.

Donations are tax-deductible under Section 80G (valid until March 31, 2028). Corporate donations qualify as CSR expenditure (Registration: CSR00108347).

Batch reports within 30 days

Every completed training batch generates a detailed report — participants, outcomes, employment status — delivered to donors within 30 days of completion.

Quarterly donor updates

Regular updates on program activity, new developments, and upcoming batches — so supporters stay informed between formal reports.

Bespoke reports available on request

Institutional donors and CSR partners can request bespoke reporting on specific program area, analysis or outcome tracking.
