V Sunildass was successful in landing a job as Trainee Research Associate at DSK Innosciences (https://dskinnosciences.com/) in Hosur, Tamil Nādu. He was selected based on a written entrance test, followed by an interview and came out successful. This is a life changing opportunity for him to be associated with an innovative company doing contract research and development in the domain of organic chemistry as applied to pharmaceutical applications for international customers. This is also his area of interest. Foundation supported him through his MSc education and later for undergoing coaching for CSIR Net and GATE preparation and examinations. He says that he was able to pass the organic chemistry test for his job only because of the training he got at the Hyderabad coaching institute. After 45 months of support by Pratibodh Foundation, Sunildass is on his own with particularly good prospect for learning on the job and preparing for a research career in Chemistry.
Christina Bowjia was able to get regular earning opportunity in her chosen field of theatre and arts. She is now a part of Theatre startup - Theatre Co - based out of Chennai which stages ticketed short plays. She is also collaborating with a Women's Development NGO based out of Chennai to teach theatre to Adi Dravidar students. She is becoming financially secure while pursuing her deep interest and dedication to theatre and performing arts. Pratibodh Foundation started supporting her through a monthly stipend in August 2021. Over the last four years, the stipend helped her to set up herself in the theatre field, develop needed networking and contacts to pursue it as a career.
R Sridharan graduated with a BCom degree from SRM College of Arts and Sciences, Tiruchirappalli. Pratibodh supported him by paying his college Fees and Expenses for completing the final year since his father died suddenly in his third year of college leaving the family with no income to meet his college expenses. He has now got employment at Omega Healthcare Management Services (https://www.omegahms.com/), a technology enabled BPO company based out of Trichy, Tamil Nādu.
R Subhashini completed her Higher Secondary Examination with an overall 82% marks, and she has joined the BTech Computer Science program at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tiruchirappalli. The Foundation is supporting her by providing college Fees and incidental expenses for the four-year degree program.
Two BCom second year students, Ms. Jothilakshmi and Ms. Pushpakala have successfully completed their final year BCom. Ms. Pushpakala is now working in a call centre.
Ms. Sangeetha Thangadurai is now in the final year MSc. (Zoology) course in Fatima College, Madurai and the foundation is continuing the support for her hostel and college expenses.
Ms. Jayashree M joined New Horizon PU College, Bengaluru for her PUC and Ms. Anagha M was promoted to Class VIII in Christ The King English School, Bengaluru. The Foundation is continuing their financial support for fees and other incidental expenses.
Ms. Sajana Vignesh, a trans-woman, successfully obtained her engineering degree in electronics and communication engineering in 2023 and secured a job as a Technical Assistant in a local Company in Coimbatore. However, the working conditions were not conducive and had to quit. She joined Seneca Global, Hyderabad in July 2024 as a paid apprentice and is getting trained in IT support function. Sajana Started training in Azure with an intent to get Microsoft certified to further her career prospect and the foundation funded the cost of the online training program. Online English coaching was also provided to Ms. Sajana Vignesh to prepare her for work readiness in corporate environment.
Pratibodh Foundation is conducting free online training for visually impaired from October 2023. First batch 11 students who successfully completed the training program conducted by Pratibodh Foundation were awarded the certificates in December 2023. The second batch of 12 students completed the training in the first week of April 2024 and received the certificates. It has been decided to conduct three 3-month training program every year on a fixed schedule - January to March, May to July and September to November to streamline the operations of the training program. Mr. Suresh Kumar joined as the coach for computer and digital skills in September 2024. During the FY 2024-25, three batches of visually impaired students completed the 3-month online training and were awarded certificates by the Foundation. A total of 36 partially and fully visually impaired students benefitted by the training program. Many have been successful in getting employment/work opportunities and they attribute their success to the training program of Pratibodh Foundation.
Ms. Ellangothai continues as the coach for Communicative English and Literacy. Pratibodh Foundation funded Ms. Ellangothai to buy KIBO (Knowledge In a Box) from Trestle Lab. KIBO helps to Listen, Translate, Digitize, Audio'tize - printed, handwritten and digital content across 60 global languages and is a particularly useful for visually challenged persons.
Ad hoc financial aid for purchase of books was provided to Ms. Sai Venba for purchase of Tamil Books for her post graduate classes. Ms. Dharuna K underwent gender reaffirmation surgery and needed financial support for continuing her college education pursuing BCom (CA) degree. The Foundation provided the funding for one semester, and she was able to get scholarship for later semester.
Pratibodh Foundation registered with NITI Aayog, Government of India under Darpan Non-profit Organisation registration requirement and was allotted a unique ID Number. It has applied to Income Tax department for obtaining 12A/80G registration.
The foundation has been working with Ms. D Hanumantha Raju and Co., a Company Secretary firm in Hyderabad since its start in August 2020. However, considering the coordination of working with a Hyderabad based Company Secretary and a Coimbatore based auditing firm, it was decided to shift the Company Secretary function to a Coimbatore based firm, G.V. and Associates. G.V. and Associates will be managing all the Company Secretary functions for the foundation from FY 2024-25 onwards.
